Today I’m announcing a new project where we will be writing a book about the future of work.
This will be a story where people from all walks of life get to tell their versions of what they think the future of work will be for them.
Hopes, fears, ideas and inspirations.
From the autoworkers whose jobs are dwindling due to automation to the accountant where software is literally crunching-out their world to freelancer tasks being increasingly mimicked by AI.
If you’re one of my regulars who is familiar with my research and writing on job automation, AI, cryptocurrency, blockchain and crowdsourcing you know where this is going.
If you’re new to my world then, sit tight — you’re in for a treat!
If you worry about where your job will be in the next 5 to 10 years then you will be amazed at the new opportunities that are emerging.
Although there are many alarming reports on how up to 50% of jobs will be lost due to automation within the next 20 years, there is another side to this story, and I will tell it through the crowd…and robots.
Robots? Well not literally robots, but with bots and algorithms.
Besides the personal stories and anecdotes from people, I will be sourcing a lot of background data on the current state of employment, automation and machine learning from public and private datasources.
Just as it’s now possible for Google or Facebook to crawl through millions of faces to identify a photo of a man dressed as a zebra, it’s also now possible to “hire” algorithms to find data for you through machine learning marketplaces.
How This Crowdsourced Book Works
It’s simple. Answer a few questions in this form and I will feature either your feedback or story in this forthcoming book if your story is chosen.
